Bin Cha
Pancake is the most common form of pressed pu-erh. Depending on the pressing method, the edge of the disk can be rounded or perpendicular. Weight varies from 100 to 850 g. But most often the pancake weighs 7 liang (357 grams). Sometimes seven pancakes of 7 liang each are packaged together for ease of sale and transportation. TO CHA
There are several versions of the origin of the name To Cha. According to one of them, this was the name given to concave-shaped weights for scales 砣 (To), which were used in China in the old days. Later the hieroglyph changed. The tea became known as 沱茶 (To Cha). According to another version, the name was borrowed from the name of the river 沱江 (Tuojiang), in the area of which such tea was originally produced. In ancient times, To Cha may have had holes in the center. For ease of transportation, they were strung on ropes. To Cha can weigh from 3 grams. up to 3 kg. The most common weights are 100 gr., 250 gr. and 500 gr.
